Afghanistan – Passport and Visa required

 

 

Note: U.S. Passport holders who were formerly Afghanistan citizens may enter Afghanistan for a short stay, without a visa The period of stay is determined by Immigration Authorities upon arrival.

 

Visa Requirements for U.S. Citizens

TOURIST

  • Valid and signed U. S. Passport (valid for at least 3 months past the end date of your stay in Afghanistan; with at least one blank visa page)  – photocopy is not acceptable

  • One (1) Visa Application Form completed and signed. Application on thermal fax paper are not accepted. The application form must have original signature.

  • One (1) Passport type photograph

  • Letter from the Employer stating that the applicant is employed and will travel to Afghanistan as a tourist.

  • Computer generated flight itinerary from the travel agent

  • Service Order Form

 

BUSINESS

  • Valid and signed U. S. Passport (valid for at least 3 months past the end date of your stay in Afghanistan; with at least one blank visa page)  – photocopy is not acceptable

  • One (1) Visa Application Form completed and signed. Application on thermal fax paper are not accepted. The application form must have original signature.

  • One (1) Passport type photograph

  • Business Letter from U.S. company

  • Computer generated flight itinerary from the travel agent

  • Service Order Form

 

 

OFFICIAL or DIPLOMATIC PASSPORT HOLDERS ONLY

  • Valid and signed U. S. Official or Diplomatic Passport (valid for at least 3 months past the end date of your stay in Afghanistan; with at least one blank visa page)  – photocopy is not acceptable

  • One (1) Visa Application Form completed and signed. Application on thermal fax paper are not accepted. The application form must have original signature.

  • Government official letter (on official letterhead) addressed to the Embassy of Afghanistan (Visa Section, Washington DC).  The letter should state: name(s) of the applicant(s), nature and the duration of the trip, company to be visited in Afghanistan.  The letter should also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant's living expenses and roundtrip transportation.  This letter must be signed by a supervisor.

Consular Fee:       $ 50.00/visa  - Two to Three Week Processing (Single Entry/1 month stay)

                                   $ 70.00/visa  - 72 Hours Processing (Single Entry/1 month stay)

                                   $100.00/visa - Same day/24 hrs Process (Single Entry/1 month stay)

                                   $140.00/visa - 24 to 48 hours Process (Single Entry/3 months stay)

                                   $180.00/visa - 24 to 48 hours Process (Single Entry/6 months stay)

                                   Gratis - for official or diplomatic passport

 

NOTE: The embassy no longer issues multiple entry visa.
