Bolivia – Passport and Visa required
 

 

Visa Requirements for U.S. Citizens

 

 

 

TOURIST 

  • Valid and signed U. S. Passport (valid at least 6 months beyond the date of entry; with at least one blank visa page)  – photocopy is not acceptable

  • One Visa Application Form completed and signed. Application on thermal fax paper is not accepted. The application form must have original signature.

  • One Passport type photograph with white or clear background

  • Copy of Hotel Confirmation, or letter of invitation from friends or relatives in Bolivia
  • Copy of Round Trip Airline Ticket or copy of travel agency/airline Itinerary
  • Copy of Bank Statement (copy of Credit Card also accepted)
  • International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever is required (except for minors age under 1 year)
  • US minors traveling alone, must hold a travel authorization from absent parent(s)/guardian(s). Translation into Spanish recommended
  • Service Order Form

 

 

BUSINESS

 

  • Valid and signed U. S. Passport (valid at least 6 months beyond the date of entry; with at least one blank visa page)  – photocopy is not acceptable

  • One Visa Application Form completed and signed. Application on thermal fax paper is not accepted. The application form must have original signature.

  • One Passport type photograph with white or clear background

  • Business Letter from U.S. Company

  • International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever is required (except for minors age under 1 year)

  • Copy of Round Trip Airline Ticket or copy of travel agency/airline Itinerary

  • Service Order Form

  • NOTE: Additional requirements for applicants applying for a Specific Purpose visa for religious institution: 

a) Letter from the religious institution indicating membership of the person traveling to Bolivia

b) Notarized and translated Certificate of the religious institution

 

OFFICIAL or DIPLOMATIC PASSPORT HOLDERS ONLY

  • U.S. Official or Diplomatic Passport, at least 6 months remaining validity
  • One Visa Application Form completed and signed. Applications on thermal fax paper are not accepted. The application forms must have original signature. 
  • 1 Passport-type photograph required
  • Letter from sending Government Department or Agency, addressed to " Embassy of Bolivia, Visa Section, Washington D. C. " detailing the applicant's name and occupation, Purpose of the trip, Dates of the trip and contact person in Bolivia 
  • Copy of Round Trip Airline Ticket or copy of travel agency/airline Itinerary
  • Service Order Form

Consular Fee:       $135.00/visa (tourist)

                                   $85.00/visa (business)

                                 Gratis (for Official or Diplomatic Passport Holder)
