China, People’s Republic of (PRC) – Passport and Visa required
 

 

Effective May 01, 2003, due to security concerns the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in the United States will cease accepting visa applications by mail (including express services). Applicants for visas are requested to appear at the Consulate in person, or use a visa service such as ours.

 

NOTE: To avoid delay with the visa processing, please make sure that you complete the new or most current Visa Application Form for china, old form (Q1) is not longer accepted by the embassy.

 

Visa Requirements for U.S. Citizens

 

 TOURIST

 

  • Valid and signed U. S. Passport (valid at least 6 months beyond the date of entry; with at least one blank visa page)  – photocopy is not acceptable

  • One Visa Application Form completed and signed. Application on thermal fax paper is not accepted. The application form must have original signature.

  • One Passport Type Photograph

  • Copy of the flight travel itinerary (this is required for for Next Day Processing/Same Day Processing))

  • Service Order Form

NOTE:

 

First time applicants whose former nationality was Chinese, shall write down his Chinese name in the application form and submit his original Chinese passport or the photocopy of the information page of the passport. Applicant who was formerly Chinese and has acquired a new US passport, if there is a Chinese visa in the old passport, shall submit his old US passport or the photocopy of the Chinese visa.

US citizens may apply for a Single Entry (valid for 3-6 months), Double Entry (valid for 6 months), Multiple Entry (valid for 6 months or 12 months) “L” Visa as needed.


A Chinese-American born in China (Taiwan, HongKong and Macau included)may apply for a Multiple Entry “L” Visa valid for 24 months.The photocopy of the personal information page of his/her passport is required to provide.

▲Foreign spouse and children of a Chinese citizen may apply for a Multiple Entry “L” Visa valid for 24 months.The original and photocopy of relevant Marriage Certificate,Birth Certificate, Kinship Certificate and other necessary documents are required to provide.

▲ Temporary foreign visitors with a valid US visa or foreign residents with legitimate status in the US, may apply for Chinese visa to the Visa Office of the Chinese Embassy. The visa officer may ask the applicant to provide the original and photocopy of their US Green Card,Work Permit,I-20 Form, valid US Visa or other additional documents and make a decision on whether to issue the visa case by case.

 

 

 

 

 BUSINESS

  • Business Letter from U.S. company OR Invitation letter from your sponsor in China

  • Service Order Form

EMPLOYMENT/WORK

 

  • Valid and signed U. S. Passport (valid at least 6 months beyond the date of entry; with at least one blank visa page)  – photocopy is not acceptable

  • One Visa Application Form completed and signed. Application on thermal fax paper is not accepted. The application form must have original signature.

  • One Passport type photograph

  • Official invitation issued by a Chinese Government Agency or a government-authorized company/organization

  • Copy of the flight travel itinerary (this is required for for Next Day Processing/Same Day Processing))

  • Employment License issued by the Chinese Labor Ministry

  • Business letter written on your company’s letterhead addressed to the Embassy of China. This letter should indicate the applicant’s name, position in the company, nature of business to be conducted in China, name and address of contact in China, and length of stay. It should also state that the company would be financially responsible for the applicant’s living expenses including roundtrip transportation, and should be signed by someone other than the applicant. 

  • Service Order Form

Official/Diplomatic Travel

  • Copy of the flight travel itinerary (this is required for the rush processing)
    Submit U.S. Official or Diplomatic Passport /valid at least 6 months beyond stay
  • 1 Visa Application Form, completed and signed
  • 1 Passport-type photograph required
  • Visa Cover Letter from U.S. Department of State
  • Letter from sending department or agency, addressed to:
    "Embassy of The Peoples Republic of China,
    Visa Section, Washington D.C."


    The letter must explain all of the following:
  • Applicant's position and title
  • The purpose of the trip
  • Dates of the intended visit
  • Contact person in China

 

Consular Fee:        $140.00/visa (Regular processing)

                                    $170.00/visa (Next Day Processing/Same Day Processing)
